Our Story
Boating on the weekends has always been a leisure pastime for our friends and family ever since I can remember. One that has brought so many of our friends and families together. It’s also allowed us all to create so many great memories together that we'll all cherish for a lifetime. My parents and all of their friends could easily be found at Masonboro Island on any given summer weekend, with some of the largest big boat raft-ups that people had ever seen. We were all having family time together, grilling, chilling, partying, swimming, and just having a grand time with all of our families, and friends. Shortly after the photo above was taken on the sand bar in 2010, our family's boat was rocked when my mother "the cruise director", was diagnosed with cancer. It was a tough battle, and unfortunately, she lost her fight in June of 2012. I tried to carry on our boating tradition, but I was so devastated by the loss that I was not able to continue boating without her. Years went past, and we were able to get back to boating on the weekends. To this day, we continue to return to my mother’s favorite spot on the sand bar at Masonboro Island. Fender Buddy® was conceived in that very spot, on the weekend at Masonboro Island doing what we love... and that's what makes it so special! Today, I'm so grateful for all of the years, and for all of the time that I spent sharing this great pastime with my family and friends. Fender Buddy® is inspired by, and dedicated to the memory of, “the cruise director”, and all of the friends, family, and familiar faces of the people that we miss so deeply, especially on any given summer weekend at Masonboro Island.
